Microcosm

Microcosm is a triptych of automatic drawings resulting from a meditative practice I’ve been honing for many years. I try to work quickly, detaching myself from any pressure to create something specific–instead favoring unfiltered expression.

My interest is in the line itself–in its ability to translate any number of ideas from mental to physical. Its form is pregnant with possiblity. The addition of typographic form is meant to give pause—breaking up pattern seeking behavior and allowing the gestalt to at times nudge in on the novel.
